What is the difference between "acrylic" and "Plexiglas® "?
Acrylic is a type of hard plastic, while "Plexiglas®" is a trade name, like "bandages" and "Band-Aids®"
Is acrylic better than glass?
Absolutely, yes in most cases! Glass shatters easily into hundreds of very sharp pieces making it very dangerous around kids. Acrylic is harder to break, and it won't shatter.
How strong is it? How much impact can it take?
Strength and impact-resistance are based on the size of the piece and its thickness.
At 1-1/4" thick it is almost bulletproof.
How do I clean it?
A soft damp cloth works best for most dust and dirt, and just a dab of mild dishwashing liquid will get rid of any fingerprints. Plastics cleaners, such as Brillianize®, and Novus 20/20® also work well for tougher dirt. Avoid using amonia, abrasives, or paper towels.
